Estonian software company AS Datel operates in space to fight natural disaster damages worldwide
Indrek Mäe, Invest in Estonia, Nov 2021
The e-service Sille.space, developed by the Estonian software company AS Datel, operates in space to prevent hidden damages caused by underground digging, faulty constructions, or natural disasters.
The task of the service Sille is easy to detect the sinking or rising of buildings. “The early prevention system based on the European Union’s satellite Sentinel-1 can detect the subsiding or rising of big infrastructural objects such as bridges, airfields, mining areas, and large buildings,” Oliver Stimmer, the Head of Space Domain at Datel, confirmed.

We present Sille.Space at the ITS World Congress, 11-15 October in Hamburg!
Meet AS Datel and the other ITS ESTONIA companies at the Nordic Pavilion! Oliver Stimmer, Head of Space Domain, will share the benefits of analyzing Terabytes of satellite data in the transport sector.
Datel´s, space-based infrastructure deformation monitoring service Sille.Space uses data from the European Union's satellites and can detect the shifts and subsidence of transport sector infrastructure — such as bridges, roads, railroads, metro systems, ports — with a precision of up to 1 millimeter. This innovative service helps prevent accidents caused by deterioration of infrastructure and, thus, contributes to the public’s general safety.
